Due to the powder coating process, it's normal for small areas at the transition points, i.e., between the links, to remain uncoated. The chains are powder-coated. This means that there is NO color between the links or at the attachment points. This is normal and unavoidable with powder-coated chains. Likewise, normal wear and tear, resulting in a used look, is perfectly normal and unavoidable over time. Especially when using a leash, friction can cause wear and tear more or less quickly. However, this shouldn't happen excessively quickly with normal use. We offer a 4-month color guarantee on the chain links under normal Trial and Training conditions
